Nellie rests in Gibraltar

Logged by Steve Bell Gibraltar

Brian and i just departed Gibraltar on our BA flight Gibraltar to London Heathrow.

We arrived Gibraltar on Tuesday - 14th September into Queensway Marina - after 410 nm sail from Valencia - where we made nice rest stops in Cartagena and Marbella Spain. Overall - A very great trip - thanks for Brian Bell - who as an ex F16 pilot quickly understood systems on Nellie, navigation, watch keeping, and safety.

We loved Gibraltar - very charming, clean , and super friendly. Our marina takes security seriously and looks to be well maintained and looked after. I feel good about Nellie resting at Queensway until my return to her on 4 November. Until then, we are doing some SS weld repair to companionway steps, re-alignment and testing of 48v high output alternator, new alternator drive pulley on Yanmar (existing was damaged during maintenance in Valencia), and new mounting rack for pack out tool boxes in engine room….

When I return to Nellie - I have Steven, Karolina, and Wiktor join me as crew in mid-November to cross the Atlantic. I am very excited.

One more BIG THANKS Brian Bell - I am lucky you are my brother. You are very competent crew and I would love to have you on board Nellie anytime. We are a good team!
