Day 2. Captain and first mate fix shit (literally day):)

After an awesome 24 hour sail/motor down the Spanish Coast Captain Bell (steve) and I arrived at Cartagena -- awesome spot by the way. Lots of history. Old walled city and you can almost feel the battles between the Romans and Carthaginians here:).

We pulled into port with an impressive list of systems to get fixed on our "rest day."

1) Fix Port Nav light (kind of important when traveling all night through lots of traffic -- commercial and fishing). Step 1. Send Brian down into the Anchor well, as a contortionist) and test the circuit (picture).

2) Replace the Bow shit pump. Not a job for the meek. Won't go into details on the process..but the world will be better tomorrow on our sail:)

3) Get our charging system working...lots of conversations about watts, amps, hybrid drives, generator, shore power, 24v vs 48v vs 12v DC....steve is helping me get an electrical engineering practical done out here in the med:). The culprit was a 100 Amp fuze blown on the battery terminal itself (weird)...fix enroute from the nice mechanics in the port in Cartagena.

FYI. When you are steve bell...sailing is not just about the wind and the Karma...it is about SYSTEMS! Lots of them. Lots of tools. Lots of problems. Lots of solutions:)

Tomorrow we are off early for another 24 Hour sail. 160NM to the Puerto Deportivo Marina Del Este (near the Spanish Costal city La Herradura). Winds look pretty good!
